Handle with care
Trust is a strong yet delicate foundation for relationships. When compromised by cracks it is much when like when a windshield is chipped by a pebble. Slowly over time, extreme hot and cold temperatures cause spreading cracks that may spur in different directions. Eventually, the more cracks and the deeper penetrating into the glass they go, the windshield breaks.
Relationships can be strong, yet fragile. Handle with Care. Trust is a hard this to regain.
Proverbs is one of my favorite books and I am reminded of two things today: from these two Proverbs 11:13 ” A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.” Proverbs 25: “A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.”
First, Truth can hurt, yet the wounds of a friend can be trusted.
Second, the enemy can take the same words as a skin of truth and unpack all the pain of emotions to lure the hurt into places reeling into a spiral of feeling broken and thoughts of not being able to trust others.
The enemy of our souls seeks to kill steal and destroy in any way possible. Remember this Maundy Thursday that a close friend betrayed Jesus. It is God’s redeeming love and the death of a savior that restores all things. May your heart be found reconciled. Christ alone heals, we all fall short of the glory. We all need to consider the cross and what forgiveness is and means to a life of freedom.
“For it is by grace you (Christ-follower) have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Trust too is a gift.
